Jim earned his degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, followed by studies at the College of Financial Planning. He also holds both an MBA and a Law degree from Georgia State University. His distinguished military service includes flying over 380 combat missions in Southeast Asia, completing the Naval Flight Program in Pensacola, Florida, and attending the prestigious Army War College at Carlisle Barracks in Pennsylvania. After retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Marine Corps, Jim continued his commitment to service by serving as a FINRA Arbitrator, where he developed a deep understanding of arbitration and mediation.

Beyond law, Jim has a wealth of experience in sales, business management, and executive roles. He is a founding member of two successful community banks and has built a reputation for his leadership in both the business and legal arenas. His diverse background allows him to bring a holistic approach to solving problems, with access to a broad network of professionals who can tackle complex issues.
